The other key thing to remember is to strike the right balance between cheap and overly expensive when buying a home security system. Do not be afraid to remind the company that you are the paying customer if you are not satisfied with the service you are getting. Really these home security systems can be trial and error. I would advise anyone not to sign any kind of long term contract with a company until they are sure they are completely satisfied.
Other home security system companies that are not as well known nationally include General Electric's alarm and burglar system. General Electric is typically quite pricey in regard to most of their appliances so I would be skeptical that anyone would get proper service for the money they are paying for their home security system. Honeywell also offers a burglar alarm system that would work well for a break in to a home, but it appears it can do little else.
